Kouizen Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 2, 2026 (English version)
Kouizen helps you turn recipe videos into batch cooking. This page explains, simply, what data is used, why, and how to exercise your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"). The French version of this policy is the reference version.
Who is responsible for your data?
The data controller is PierreSN. For any question about your data: [email protected].
What stays on your phone
Your recipes, your batch cooking week, your shopping list, your fridge, your freezer and your card collection are stored only on your phone. Kouizen has no access to them and sends them nowhere.
The data we process
- Your account: the anonymous identifier provided by "Sign in with Apple" and the email address Apple sends us (your real address, or a relay address if you chose "Hide My Email"). Purpose: to create and secure your account. Legal basis: performance of the service you ask for (GDPR art. 6.1.b). Retention: until you delete your account.
- What you import: the link to the video or page, its caption or description, the public name of the account that posted it, and, for a video, the transcript of what is said in it; or the list of recipes in your batch cooking plan. Purpose: to turn it into a recipe card or a cooking plan. Legal basis: performance of the service (art. 6.1.b). Retention: this content is not stored by Kouizen. It is passed on only for the time it takes to answer: to our transcription provider (which deletes its results within an hour), then to AI providers that do not keep it and do not use it to train their models.
- The AI usage counter: the number of imports per day. Purpose: to apply a daily limit and prevent abuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in protecting the service (art. 6.1.f). Retention: 30 days, then automatic deletion.
- Technical logs from our hosting providers (IP address, date and result of requests). Purpose: security and proper operation. Legal basis: legitimate interest (art. 6.1.f). Retention: a few days.
Kouizen shows no ads, uses no trackers or audience measurement tools, and does not sell or rent your data. The kouizen.app website sets no cookies.
Who receives this data?
Only the providers the service needs, acting on our behalf:
- Supabase: hosting of the account and the server, in the European Union (Paris, France).
- Supadata (Germany, with subprocessors in the EU and the United States): transcription of what is said in videos and reading of web pages, with no reuse to train models; results deleted within an hour.
- OpenRouter (United States) and the AI model provider, Anthropic (United States): generation of recipe cards and plans, with no retention of the texts.
- Apple: sign-in with "Sign in with Apple".
- Cloudflare (United States): hosting of the kouizen.app website, which only receives the technical logs of your visit.
Transfers outside the European Union are covered by appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
At any time, you can:
- access your data and take it with you (portability): Account → Export my data;
- have it erased: Account → Delete my account, which deletes your account on our servers, removes Kouizen's access to your Apple ID, and erases the app's data on this phone;
- have it corrected, object to a processing or ask for it to be restricted, by writing to [email protected].
We reply within one month. If you believe your rights are not respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr), the French data protection authority, or with the authority of your country.
Security
Exchanges are encrypted (HTTPS). Your session is stored in your iPhone's secure keychain. Only the Kouizen server knows the key to the AI, and only the people who need it can access the servers.
Minimum age
Kouizen is meant for people aged 15 and over.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be shown here with its date. If the change is significant, we will let you know in the app.
